I believe that every client that comes through my door brings their own unique set of traits, qualities and strengths that will help them meet their goals; therefore, my style of therapy is client centered. Although I am trained in various other theoretical orientations such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, existential therapy and attachment based theories, I enjoy using my client’s strengths to tailor their treatment using their unique qualities. I believe that my clients drive their own therapy and I am open to learning from you as well. I believe that therapy is more of an experience rather solely a therapy session.
During my 20 year career, I have worked in various social service and mental health settings. I have worked with foster children who have experienced trauma. In addition, I have provided outpatient mental health services to children, couples and families going through a developmental crisis, divorce or are adapting to a blended family trying to create to a new family dynamic. I believe that the most successful clients are those that feel safe, supported and understood by their therapist. Being able to feel understood and heard are crucial to a person’s journey for self actualization. As a Latina therapist, I can provide services in Spanish if needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio and I look forward to helping you.
