Marlene Blanco

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

A little bit about my background:  I have worked with community organizations in LA County and my experience with them has both widened my scope of practice as well as my understanding of unique situations.  The fact that I was born and raised in LA has also added to my familiarity with diverse individuals and situations.  The majority of my experience has been working with both children and adults who have survived trauma.  I have also guided individuals through crises during my work with The Trevor Project and Didi Hirsch.  Moreover, I’ve led parent groups and workshops on various topics affecting parents. Additionally, I’ve provided mental health support for those facing sexual orientation stigma within the LGBTQ+ community.

My approach is eclectic overall with a humanistic element in the sense that clients remain the focus but goal setting/progression is emphasized.  I’m trained in various forms of CBT and I’m a trained domestic violence advocate.

Besides mental health, other passions of mine are traveling and animals. I enjoy traveling during my spare time, whether it is a weekend getaway or a short out-of-the-country excursion for several days. I love animals and volunteer at animal rescue facilities.

Thank you for stopping by and I’m looking forward to connecting with you.
