Hugh O’Donnell

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

To begin, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my story. I have dedicated the last 15 years to working in the mental health field. My early career in social work focused on providing support and treatment to children and families. I transitioned to a clinical setting working with the veterans of this great country. As a component of the medical team, I focused on recognizing psychological issues related to having experienced trauma.

My experience includes working with individuals from various socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and other diversified backgrounds. Culture and values are major elements of a person’s identity. I incorporate cultural awareness into mental health care and the essential features of being a culturally responsive clinician.

A client is their own best advocate and source of information for their own treatment and life success. This is the reason why I choose to implement Solution-Focused Therapy. Once a goal has been identified, we will focus on finding solutions using various methods to improve your quality of life. A focus on the present will help build tools for the future.

If you give me the opportunity, you and I will work together to examine and break unhelpful patterns of behavior. We will focus on building new coping strategies to bring out your strengths, improve your quality of life, and add to your personal enjoyment of life.

When I’m not working, I find enjoyment in spending time in the outdoors with my kids. I also like hiking and biking.
